　あまりいい言い方ではないかもしれませんが、最近は、「猫も杓子も」株をやるようですね。（These days every Tom, Dick and Harry seems to be investing in the stock market.）　(every) Tom, Dick and Harryで、「猫も杓子も」。 この表現もぜひ覚えておこう。

○Practical Example

　“The stock market seems to be going up these days.”

　“You know what they say: What goes up, must come down.” 　

　「ここのところ、株が上がっているようだね」　

　「こういう言い方知ってるでしょう？　『上がるのであれば、いずれ下がる』」

●Extra Point 　

　株に投資する（to invest in the stock market）人たちは、株の売買をする（to buy and sell stocks）。

◎Extra Example

　“Do you own any stocks, Mr. Kanemaru?”

　“Me? Lots. I have shares in about ten different companies.” 　

　「金丸さん、株をお持ちですか？」　

　「ぼく？　たくさん持っているよ。10ぐらいの銘柄を所有している」 　

　複数の株を持つ（to own shares in stocks）人もいる。
