TO ONE’S COST

  訳了したものの、調整で手間取っている本に、次の表現があった。

One has but to compare prices now with prices ten or twenty years ago to realise how enormous has been the increase in the interest in and desire for things old and beautiful and rare.

 　by [in] leaps and boundsは「ずんずん、急激に、うなぎ登りに、とんとん拍子に」
　これは1901年の文章だが、このように倒置もイディオムも無数に出てくるので油断できない。
