DISCONCERTING

　大江健三郎（1935-2023）は、1994年にノーベル文学賞を受賞した。川端康成以来26年ぶり、日本人として2人目の受賞者となった。

　受賞の理由は、who with poetic force creates an imagined world, where life and myth condense to form a disconcerting picture of the human predicament todayというものだが、これはなかなかむずかしい。特にdisconcertingをこの文脈で日本語にするのは苦労するかもしれない。

　disconcertingを辞書で引けば、「困惑させる, どぎまぎさせる, めんくらわせる」といった意味が出てくる。

　例文を確認し、その場にふさわしい言い方にするのがいいだろう。　

　disconcertingは次のように使われる。
