TO OUTSOURCE

　これは新しい語で、最近とてもよく使われる。「外部から調達する」「（仕事などを）外部に委託する」という意味。多くの仕事が海外に発注される（Many jobs are outsourced to another country.）が、そのほうが人件費も安くすむし、時差を利用して効果的に仕事を進めることもできる。

○Practical Example

　“I phoned up about my computer and got someone in India on the line.”

　“Yeah, a lot of companies outsource their helpline. It’s cheaper for them that way.” 　

　「コンピュータのことを聞こうと電話したら、インドの人が電話に出たよ」　

　「ああ、多くの企業が電話の問い合わせを海外で行っている。そのほうが安くすむんだ」
