CRITICAL

　criticalにはたくさんの意味がある。今日はそのうちの二つの意味を学習する。一つは、「批判的な、厳しく批判する、酷評する」。

○Practical Example

　“Romeo is so critical of me all the time. He never seems satisfied.”

　“Don’t let it get you down, Juliette. He’s still very young.” 　

　「ロメオはいつもわたしに厳しいことを言う。絶対に満足しないみたい」　

　「ジュリエット、そんなに落ち込まないで。ロミオはまだ子供なのよ」

●Extra Point 　

　「決定的な、重大な」「重要な」の意味でも使われる。

◎Extra Example

　“The meeting today is really critical. Juliette will either say she’ll marry me or not.”

　“Take it easy, Romeo. I’m sure she loves you.” 　

　「今日、彼女に会うんだけど、ほんとうに大事だ。ジュリエットは、ぼくと結婚してくれるかどうか、返事をしてくれるんだ」　

　「ロミオ、そんなにかたくなるなよ。きっと彼女は君が好きだ」
