AMORPHOUS

　翻訳をしていると、日常的には使われない語だが、語そのものの意味はわかる、だが、書き手はそこでどんな意味を込めて使っているか、読者にわかるようにして訳文を作る上げる必要がある、と感じることがある。

　amorphousもそのひとつだ。この語は『研究社　新英和大辞典』によると、

　1 無定形の, 不規則な形の.

　2 組織[統一]のない; 不規則な; 特色のない, 漠然とした.

の意味で使われる。

One thing that I think is fortunate about autism for me is that I’m so amorphous.
