雪山遭難事件で父のみ死亡（オレゴン）

James Kim’s body found in canyon; he had left stranded family to seek help
　Kim’s wife, Kati, 30, and their daughters Penelope, 4, and Sabine, 7 months, were rescued Monday as they were leaving their car to find help themselves. She told officers that the couple made a wrong turn and became stuck in the snow nearly two weeks before. They used their car heater until they ran out of gas, then burned tires to stay warm and attract attention. With only a few jars of baby food and limited supplies, Kati Kim nursed both children.

　車が雪の中で立ち往生したため、亡くなったキムさんの奥さんと２人の娘は、父が外に助けを呼びに出てから２週間もの間、車中でガス欠になるまで暖房を出し続け、その後はタイヤを焼いて暖を取ったという。
　発見の決め手は奥さんが持っていた携帯電話の発信。受信基地の場所から遭難場所が割り出された。
　それにしても、家族のために助けを求めて雪の中８マイル（１２．８キロ）を歩いたあげく力尽きたキムさんの無念は察するに余りある。合掌。
　

リトビネンコ氏の葬儀

Mr Litvinenko, who reportedly converted to Islam shortly before his death, is believed to be having a private Muslim funeral at a mosque.

Mr Lugovoi is also expected to be interviewed in Moscow.Russian officials are expected to conduct the interview but British detectives will be in attendance.

　死の直前にイスラム教に改宗したといわれるリトビネンコ氏は、モスクでイスラム式の葬儀に付されるものと見られている。

　…嫌疑のかけられているルゴボイ氏もまたモスクワで取調べを受けるものと見られているが、ロシアの捜査官が、イギリスの刑事の立会いの下で取調べを行う予定である。

　元KGB職員でリトビネンコ氏の発症直前に接触のあったルゴボイ氏が「重要参考人」と見られているが、ロシア政府が取調べを行うため、まともな捜査になるのかどうかは疑問といえる。
