FLUID

　fluidは名詞で、意味はもちろん「流体、流動体」。

○Practical Example

　“What is the fluid in this glass, Herman?”

　“It’s beer, Patrick. But the fizz has gone out of it.”

　「ハーマン、このコップの中に入っている液体は何？」

　「ビールだよ、パトリック。でも、気が抜けちゃっているな」

●Extra Point 　

　形容詞形はfluid. 「（文や動きが）流れるような、流麗な」のほかに、「（意見など）変わりやすい、流動的な、固定していない」という意味がある。

◎Extra Example

　“The situation in the Middle East is very fluid.”

　“I hope that things change for the better, Sen. Powerhouse.”

　「中東情勢はほんとうに流動的だ」

　「状況の好転を願っています、パワーハウス上院議員」 　

　Sen.はSenatorの短縮形で、人名とともに用いられる。Sen.はSenatorと発音される。Mr.がMister, Dr.がdoctorと発音されるのと同じ。
