TAB

　tabには「たれ、つまみ、タブ」ほか、いろんな意味があるが、「（レストランなどの）勘定（書き）、請求書」の意味でも使われるので、注意しよう。

　今日のGetUpEnglishでは、「勘定書き、請求書」の意味で使われる用例を紹介する。

○Practical Example

　"This the yummiest ramen. Let's eat one more bowl, Iruka-sensei."

　"But who will pay the tab?"

　「これは最高にうまいラーメンだってばよ。イルカ先生、もう一杯食べようぜ」

　「でも、誰がお金を出すのさ？」

●Extra Point

　to pick up the tab（勘定を支払う）という言い方もよくする。

　"Most of them ordered beer, which wasn’t expensive, but some of the older men ordered expensive wine."

　"Then Walter learned he was supposed to pick up the tab."
