TO MAKE A NOTE OF IT

　何かを「書きとめる」と言いたい時に、よくこの表現を使う。

○Practical Example

　“Please remember that we are expecting you tomorrow at 18:00.”

　“I’ll make a note of it in my diary.” 　　

　「明日の夕方６時にお待ちしていますから、どうかお忘れなく」　　

　「手帳に書きとめます」 　

　ここでのdiaryは「手帳」。明日はこの語を学習する。

　「お待ちしております」のto expectは、『日めくり現代英語帳』上巻の3月5日のレッスンで詳しく解説しています。

●Extra Point 　

　紙には書き留めずに、頭の中に記憶することもある。それをmental noteという。「念頭に置く」に近いかもしれない。

　“Please make a note of the time of tomorrow’s appointment. It’s 18:00.”

　“Got it. Thanks, Mr. Putinov.” 　

　「明日のこと、覚えておいてね。夕方６時だよ」

　「わかりました。ありがとうございます。プティノヴさん」
