TO NAG

　to nagで、「何かにがみがみ小言を言う」という意味。よく妻が夫や子供や親にがみがみ小言を言う時に使われるが、実際小言は誰でも言う。

○Practical Example

　"Look, Yuka, stop nagging me about it, okay? I was working, and that's that."

　"I'm not nagging, Keiichi. I'm just trying to find out the truth."

　 「ねえ、夕香、あんまりがみがみ言わないでよ。ぼくは働いているんだ。この話はやめよう」

　「慶一、わたしはがみがみ言ってないわ。ほんとのことが知りたいだけ」

●Extra Point

　nagは名詞としても「うるさい小言（を言う人[こと]）、小言屋」の意味で使われる。

◎Extra Example

　"You're being a nag, Yuka. Leave me alone. I'm going to bed."

　"Fine, Keiichi. Go to bed. Your 'bed' tonight is the living room sofa. Night."

　「夕香、うるさいよ。放っておいてくれ。ぼくは寝る」

　「慶一、どうぞ寝てちょうだい。あなたが今夜寝るところは、居間のソファよ。お休み」

　"Night."は"Good night."を短くした表現。
