　bitは、「部分、小部分、小片、細片、破片」の意味。

　“You mean the bit about when I shook hands with Yonsama?” 　

　「ねえ、弘子、ソウルに行った時の話をもう一度ちょっと聞かせてよ」　

　「ヨンさまと握手した話のこと？」

　to do one’s bitは、よく使われる表現で、「自分の役割を果たす、本分を尽くす」という意味。
