TO BE IN MOURNNG

　「喪中」で年賀状などによる年末年始のご挨拶をご遠慮された方もいらっしゃったと思います。　

　さて、「喪中」は英語でなんと言うか？　

　今日のGetUpEnglishでは、この「喪中」の英語表現を考えてみます。　

　「喪中」はto be in mourningで表現できます。

○Practical Example

　"My mother died at 60 this year. I am in mourning for her."

　"Please accept my condolences."

　「母が今年60歳で亡くなりました。今年は喪中です」

　「心よりお悔やみ申し上げます」

●Extra Point

　「喪中により、新年のご挨拶を失礼させていただきます」は、次のように言えばいいと思う。

　"My father passed in June this year. So since we are in mourning, we shall not be sending our customary New Year greetings."

　"I understand. I wish next year will be the best one for you and your family."

　「父が今年の6月に他界しました。喪中により、新年のご挨拶は失礼させていただきます」
